Support Worker with Full UK Driving Licence

Salary: £11.54 - 12.54 per hour depending on experience.
Schedule: 9-5, Monday to Friday

We're thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for a 9-5, Monday to Friday role in social care, a rarity in this field where weekend and long shifts are the norm. This role is being advertised by our sister company Salisbury Support Services. They are looking for a professional, dedicated support worker who can offer commitment to delivering high quality care to the people they support in their day service and who has the flexibility to work within their supported living service if required.

This role will primarily operate within regular office hours, offering a work-life balance that's seldom found in the social care sector.

Occasional Shift Coverage:
While this role primarily follows a 9-5, Monday to Friday schedule, there may be occasional instances where flexibility is required. This could involve covering shifts on weekends or accommodating long shifts to cover absence and annual leave in other services. We greatly value the dedication and adaptability of our team members in such situations.

Please note that due to the nature of the role they can only accept applications from male support workers with a full UK driving licence.

THE ROLE

Experience working within the learning disabilities field is desirable, but not essential as we provide comprehensive training and QCF opportunities to all our employees.

Within our day service we support a diverse group of learning disabled adults with complex needs and varying levels of challenging behaviour. We provide person centred support focusing on what is really important to the service users; helping them manage behaviours, and increase life skills whilst supporting them in all aspects of daily living, personal care and resourcing activities to increase independence and capabilities enabling them to live as fuller life as possible.

We encourage and support our service users to access the community at least once a day whether it is simply for a walk, to shop or visit a place of interest to them.

Responsibilities also include:
  • report writing
  • care planning
  • driving our minibus to collect and transport the adults we support

A good imagination, sense of humour, excellent communication and computer literacy skills are essential.

You should be able to confidently work autonomously and as part of the team.
